Basketry Workshop

Know the basic technique of fabrics with natural fibers and enjoy the experience of making a basket with natural wicker.

 

The objective of the workshop is the traditional technique of Tequisquiapan, Querétaro and to keep alive the ancestral craft of basketry which is one of the first trades in the history of man even before pottery. In addition, it is inspiration and origin of the textile arts.

 

Stage 1: Introduction to basket weaving in Mexico Stage.

2: Material properties, color selection and object design. Stage.

3: Experimentation, application of the tissue technique and results.

 

Aimed at designers, illustrators, artists, students and the general public, interested in Mexican culture and tradition (recommended for over 15s).

 

COST: $ 1,590.00 per person.

DATES: OPTION A: Saturday, June 29.

OPTION B: Sunday, June 30.

 

SCHEDULE: 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
